Bear Down.

So I finally made the much anticipated trip to Tucson this weekend with Amanda and her family.

We started the weekend off by eating at this total hole-in-the-wall burger joint named, Lindy's on 4th. I ordered this:

...well, not really. But a man at a table next to us did. This 12 patty fatty is called the O.M.F.G, and if you can eat it all in 20 minutes, it's free. This challenge is what brought the show, "Man vs. Food" to Tucson. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the man try to conquer this beast of a burger, watching as his eyes slowly glazed over as he one by one ate each patty as if they were chocolate chip cookies smothered in cheese. It was heartbreaking to see him shove the last of it into his mouth, only to have the waiter call time.

Next, we met up with one of Amanda's family friends, named Rachel. She took us around the campus, showed us the dorms, etc. I must say, I really liked the campus, and I really liked the atmosphere. I think U of A is a good fit for me. So after the college tour, Rachel invited us to do some "pre-gaming" with some of her friends. Yeah...welcome to the college life? We then proceeded to walk to the stadium, and as tempting as Rachel's offer to sneak us into the student section was, we declined, and made our way to our seats, where we met some interesting people. There was British Man, whom Manda was drooling over. All that I know is he was a Chelsea fan, and if anyone had anything to say about that he'd "f*ck them up." Then there was Desert-Vista-Freshman-Homeboy, who stood behind me, and commentated every single thing that happened throughout the game. Then there was Drunk Man, who was well...drunk. We were sure he'd be the one to start a fight. He constantly asked for "more cowbell" and told everyone to "stay in the positive zone, not the negative zone." British man was annoyed with Drunk man, or so he told us. Needless to stay, there were some characters around us, and they kept the game interesting...even more so than it already was.

Oh, yeah, and drunk college kids?

Thanks for charging the field with one minute left in the game and Oregon at the goal line. You looked like total idiots on live television. Way to go!

Anyway, after all of the adventures Amanda and I had, it's safe to say that we're ready for college. I'm ready for what the rest of my life has in store for me, and this weekend just added a whole new sense of excitement.

T-114 more school days!

A beginning.

So I'm new to this whole "blog" scene.
To begin, I don't lead an extraordinary life nor do I have an interesting career. I'm just an average student, living in an average home, with average friends and an average family. It's the little things, however, that make my life enjoyable. It's finding a way to use the word 'lackadaisical' in the answer to a multiple choice question. It's being at the top of the stands for one last football game. It's running a red light with 4 gullible teenagers in the backseat of my car. That's what makes my day. The little things.
I have bad days, (lately more often than usual) but a lot of the times I like to focus on the good things that happen throughout my day, and I find myself enjoying everything more. I remember back in 8th grade, my best friend Jen and I, had what we called "the notebook", where we wrote down all the funny and ridiculous things that happened throughout the day. Looking back on it, I find things that people said that I would've never remembered, or I'm reminded of stupid situations that once brought me to tears from laughter. These moments are what got me through the school day, and even through my middle school career. Alright, I've got about 6 months left in high school, so why spend it complaining about how everything just sucks?
Basically, this won't be my complaining blog...it'll be a place to talk about the quirks of my day, the things that made me smile, or even the random things I found interest in. Don't get me wrong, I'll rant, because ranting is what I do best, but I want to focus more on the positives.
A good friend of mine once said that,"[blogging] is really a nice way to steam, and let some creative juices flow."
And since I love to write, I decided to pick this up. And since I want to remember what's going on in my life, I decided to pick this up. And since I spend entirely too much time on the internet, I decided to pick this up.
So go ahead and enjoy, my sanguine expectations.
